As you may be aware, Eirgrid is planning a massive road-digging
programme across Dublin to upgrade the power grid by 2030. The programme
is designed to facilitate increased levels of wind energy on the
national grid. The company is engaged in a public information programme
and reps from LADRA have attended a number of these meetings.
Eirgrid had identified a number of preferred routes for this road
programme. Option K, from Inchicore to Poolobeg, if chosen, will involve
major roadworks across tracts of Georgian Dublin as well as Grand Canal
Street and Shelbourne Road. Even though Eirgrid is not subject to the
planning laws we intend to make a submission to the company by May 23.
The purpose of this post is to encourage members with knowledge of
their locality, to come up with reasons as to why they believe the works
should not come down Grand Canal Street and Shelbourne Road.
In our submission we would like to say that we have consulted with our
members, so we encourage as many people as possible to respond to this
email so your views can be included in our submission.

Please send your responses to info@ladra.org
Yours sincerely
